Kristin Lehrer is the founder and passionate hand-dyer behind Voolenvine Yarns, where you'll find colorways dyed on luxurious yarn bases inspired by her travels, music, and love of gothic and fantasy.
When she was very young, Kristin visited her great-grandmother in Germany, who was always knitting. Kristin’s uncle even owned a sheep farm! All her life, Kristin has been knitting, and in 2014, decided to give hand-dyeing yarn a try. She immediately fell in love with the process, and a short time later, Voolenvine Yarns online shop was born.
Kristin’s shop is a one-woman show, featuring ethically sourced yarn from reputable, cruelty-free farms and mills around the world. Yarn is dyed using professional acid dyes in a smoke-free, pet free, dedicated studio. Each skein is truly unique; no two skeins are alike!
You can follow her fiber-filled adventures on Instagram (@Voolenvine), or subscribe to YARNGASM, her weekly knitting podcast including topics on sewing, cats, tea, and Kristin’s love for all things mauve.
Kristin is a native New Yorker, who currently resides in Brooklyn with her husband Dennis and Bella the cat.
